Massage Services

  • Swedish – a lighter touch that includes long, gliding strokes, kneading, and can incorporate light stretching when needed. This technique is beneficial for relaxation, reducing muscle soreness and tension, increased blood flow and lymphatic drainage, as well as improving immune function and promoting deeper rest. It is a known complement to traditional Western medicine and can be highly effective in reducing symptoms associated with chronic illness such as cancer, depression, insomnia.

  • Deep Tissue – a focused, deeper level of muscle work that involves applying sustained pressure using slow, deep strokes to target the inner layers of your muscles and connective tissues. This helps to break up scar tissue that forms following an injury and reduce tension in muscle and tissue. It is used to treat muscle and tendon injuries, pain, and stiffness in your major muscle groups and joints.

  • Hot Stones  a therapeutic experience by incorporating smooth, heated stones into the massage technique. The warmth of the stones enhances the overall massage, promoting relaxation and easing tense muscles. Strategically placed on key points of the body, the stones provide a soothing and comforting sensation. The combination of heat and massage improves circulation, alleviates stress, and releases muscle tension. This technique is particularly effective in promoting a sense of well-being and balance, making it a popular choice for those seeking a deeply calming and rejuvenating experience.

  • Lymphatic Drainage - a gentle, rhythmic approach aimed at encouraging the healthy flow and drainage of lymph in the body, lymphatic drainage is especially helpful for clients undergoing cancer treatments or with a history of cancer, and for post operative clients looking for help with the healing process. It is also excellent for general wellness due to its potential to improve digestion and sleep, relieve a feeling of bloating and heaviness, and promote overall relaxation!

  • Pre & Postnatal - focused on improving overall health, reduce stress, and relieving muscle tension in women currently pregnant or who have recently given birth, this style of massage can help reduce anxiety, decrease symptoms of depression, relieve muscle aches and joint pains, and improve labor outcomes and newborn health, and support recovery following childbirth.

  • Oncological Massage - using a variety of modifications and adjustments to traditional massage therapy techniques including the length of the session, pressures used, position of the client on the table, and areas of specific compromise or concern, this style meets the unique and ever changing needs of someone in treatment for cancer or living with a history of cancer.

Kat Parker is a passionate facilitator of healing and wellness and believes that with thoughtful communication and a holistic approach she can fully attend to each clients’ needs. Kat specializes in an intuitive combination of deep tissue and Swedish massage aimed at regulating the nervous system and promoting relaxation while also doing meaningful work in the deeper layers of tissue. She believes that the most valuable impact she can have as a massage therapist is by working with the body, slowly melting through fascial restrictions and adhesions, rather than against the body with excessive pressure. A great massage shouldn’t hurt!

Kat additionally specializes in lymphatic drainage massage – a gentle, rhythmic approach aimed at encouraging the healthy flow and drainage of lymph in the body. Lymphatic drainage is especially helpful for clients undergoing cancer treatments or with a history of cancer, and for post operative clients looking for help with the healing process. This modality is also great for general wellness due to its potential to improve digestion and sleep, relieve a feeling of bloating and heaviness, and promote overall relaxation!

Kat has been a professional massage therapist since 2016 when she graduated from the Costa Rica School of Massage Therapy in Samara, Costa Rica. Over the years she has provided massage treatments at 5-star resort spas as well as small independent studios, worked alongside chiropractic teams, and visited private clients in their homes. She is also honored to be a part of the rotating faculty instructing Kinesiology and Massage Technique courses at the Costa Rica School of Massage Therapy.
